perspektif orang yang tak bertudung pastu pakai tudung: Part 2

assalamualaikum wbt!

subhanallah! alhamdulillah! Allahuakbar!!

it's syawal already!!
time flies really quickly these days =O

anyway, i've been wanting to write this for the longest time: my perspective from a person who wasn't covered, to now is. i pray hope that i will continue on till the end of my time. in sha Allah =)

this year is my second year of being a hijaber. (weeeee!)
i'm still very much muslim than when i wasn't a hijaber. however, many things have changed since. i've written about my first time wearing it in this old post and i find it weird how people would leave a comment on a post as old as that too. come on peeps. dah 2 tahun kot.

=)
bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

my initial intention was to be a better person. 2 years ago, i wanted to wear tudung because i thought it would make me see something i couldn't see.
i ni the kind yang suka observe and will try to understand people's actions. i read fictional books not because i like to transport myself into a fantasy world or anything like that, but mainly because i like to read about the characters. it's like a shortcut for me to see other people's perspective.

so before being a hijaber, i wondered like why laa do people always make a fuss about tudung. it's just a piece of cloth! chill la! takyah la paksa pakai! i pakai bila i nak la! islam bukan agama paksaan! i tau la wajib tapi chill la! my grave is my grave! - i used to answer to people's nagging about tudung.
in 2010, when i took that one selendang and wrapped it around my head, covering my hair and most of my neck area, all i wanted to know was how can this piece of cloth, could make me a better person.

alhamdulillah. with tears on my face now as i'm typing this, i believe it did make me into a better person.
i don't know how much better, but definitely it's different now.

it took me about a year to get used to wearing shawls. i bought so many types of shawls to understand the kinds of material that suits me best, which ones can be styled easiest, etc etc. my concerns were more towards fashion because.. well.. i wanted to feel good wearing it in order to get used to it..

the next step for me was to understand Islam and finding the Truth.
alhamdulillah, the Quran had been my bestest best ever best of the best friend ever on this journey!
it's true, when people tell you that the Quran is the best form of hidayah, believe them. get one with translations and read it.
i went to several book stores to buy a Quran with translations (you can find them in MPH and Kinokuniya), but i found my mom's Quran (with translations of course) at home which she bought in Mekah when she did her hajj!! so takyah beli! yayy! i was so happy then and when i started reading it, masyAllah..
every turning page is either a slap on the face or new knowledge.
the strongest ayat which gave me the biggest slap was Surah Ali-Imran, ayat 185. i posted it in my tentang hijab post and everytime, sampai sekarang ayat tu macam terngiang ngiang dalam kepala otak.

of course there are so many ayats which repetitively remind us about how worldly pleasures are only temporary while the hereafter is eternity, but this ayat was the first one to struck me real hard.

and then came the song "If i die young" by the band perry.

when i heard the song on the radio the first time (and many times after), i cried.
this particular verse haunted me:

Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother
She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh well
Life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I've had just enough time

firstly, i don't want my mom to bury me.
secondly, if she had to, yes i want her to know i'm safe in Paradise.
thirdly, i know i have to die eventually, my death is written but it's a secret no one will ever know. it's like jumping off a cliff and not knowing when you'll hit the ground.
it's scary!!!
lastly, if the life of anyone i love would be taken earlier than mine, i don't want them to be burdened by my sins.. if anything, i want everyone to enter Paradise.. in sha Allah..

so like i mentioned earlier, "i wanted to wear tudung because i thought it would make me see something i couldn't see", and yes. i saw.

i saw how much i lacked. how little my knowledge in islam was and how much i've taken it for granted.

oh Allah.. ampunilah hambaMu ini Ya Allah..
i was too proud before.. i thought i knew my religion! but what i knew was only the basic stuff. stuff we learn in school i soon realised, were not enough. there're so much more to know!
it became more apparent about how little i know even though i've studied Islam and went to usrahs. when i went to do my first ever umrah earlier this year.. i was embarrassed. ashamed of myself. malu sangat nak bertemu Dia..

my change ni kan, was from out to in.
meaning to say, i had to change my outlook and lifestyle first and gradually progress on the inside, the heart and mind. some people go through this too and some start changing from in to out. which means some people change their hearts and minds first before changing their outlook and lifestyle.
whichever way it is, both are good. it is normal for human to always want to be better. it's just a matter of how much effort we're willing to put and how much we're willing to sacrifice.
and before any of you start judging others or questioning other people's intentions, remember.. "today i am better than you, but maybe tomorrow, you will be better than me." - this saying generally. when we see people who hasn't performed their best, make a doa for them.

The Prophet said: "The dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is readily accepted. An angel is appointed to his side. Whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says, 'Aameen. And may you also be blessed with the same.'" [Sahih Muslim]

doakan terbaik untuk orang lain, maka in sha Allah kita pun dapat kebaikan tersebut =) Allah SWT sememangnya Maha Pemurah & Maha Penyayang!

SO! to finish this off, before, i used to think hijab is the act of covering ourselves physically. but now the 'hijab' which means covering, to me, is the act of covering from head to toe with modesty, being modest, portraying a believer of Islam, a form of jihad (though i know it's not a big type of jihad), and all of that with the intention of pleasing Allah SWT. and that is why i call myself a hijaber. macam doa la since nak ber-istiqamah kan =) in sha Allah.

and as an advice, if you know what you're doing is something good, don't hesitate. just do it, pray for the best and tawakal. maybe your first intention macam "off" sikit tapi takpe. try to improve from time to time =)
takde masalah la! hehee =D

all the best uolls!
i love you lillahi taala =)
salam!

Kuala Lumpur

Assalamualaikum =)

ini pagi i ada sesi bergambar for Women of Malaysia (insyAllah will be featured for February issue) and it was at this awesome place which my noobself and my mom (i had her come with =p) didn't know about.

"apa ini tempat?"

hoooo yeaaahhhh, Perpustakaan Kuala Lumpur.

i only know National Library, tak aware pun ada library lain.. and this library is the one dekat Dataran Merdeka. CANTIK OKAYYY!! and sooo clean! reminds me of Harry Potter for some reason. nampak sangat i bukan orang KL. ye adik adik kakak abang aunty uncle nenek datuk sekalian, saya orang selangor. peace. mueheheee =p

so after the interview, my mom and i apa lagi, jalan jalan la!! it was such a lovely day for a stroll anyway =D (and because we don't really know what was around that area.. guilty of being kl-noob)

Galeri ni best!

the gallery is small, simple and quaint, and the best part is that it's free! takyah nak bayar entrance fee kejadah. masuk, tengok, tangkap gambau, and... tangkap gambau. kalau ada duit lebih, buy some souvenirs la!

ini memang awesome.

ini juga.

tudung kelepet terbaik. hilang terus effect 'bawal'. tut tut tut.. =\

Arch woodcraft = maximum coolness

after checking out the gallery, kita pun keluar la to get vitamin D. and of course to check more cool things out.
Restoran Warisan! nak masuk but tutup.. sad..
maka i pun buat peace.
ini macam. ahakkk =p

bebehs, you think Rome je ke ada fountain fountain?
pffft! Malaysia pun ada ok! and it's way awesome-r! coz Malaysia memang awesome.

ada gaya macam baru menang olympics tak?

KL at its best.
clear sky, clear roads, clear dataran merdeka, and me showing off my kungfu skills. terbaik.

setelah puas berjalan, we went to chill la. guess who we met?!

PITBULL!!!! best gila ok Pitbull join kitorang makan tutti frutti. hahahaha!!

kidding la. that's my dad, mentor to Pitbull. unbelievable? don't believe it. hehe!

by the way, for the interview, Jubahsouq.com was kind enough to lend me their jaw-dropping-eyes-watering-gorgeous jubahs!

absolutely stunning choices i was given, and with the help of my lovely mother, this was what i wore:
the theme was Beauty of Knowledge, so i thought i want to potray a muslimah yang knowledgeable. hahhaha!
at first wanted to go for "YO, I'M AN ENGINEER DUDE!" look, but then, tak semestinya engineers je yang pandai kan? (if that sounds poyo, sorry!!) that's why i thought of jubah. universal sikit =) i sure am nervous about the outcome of the interview. hopefully it'll be ok.. we'll see la next month camane.

so okay okaaayyyyhh.. i know i'm a kl-noob. when it comes to KL, i think shopping malls and masjid india. kira shopping areas la. i never thought of checking out the original KL buildings from colonial times sebab.. yeah, tak terfikir la kan. takde orang pun ajak "Maria, jom gi jalan jalan kat KL tengok buildings old school!".
korang memang.

so apa lagi? if you people nak do something different for a change (since shopping malls can be boring), ajak la your friends or family to go around KL and really explore it!
=D

to everyone who's celebrating chinese new year, GONG XI FA CAIIIII!! pili pili pala paaaa~ (lagu pasal mercun). and to those yang balik kampung bercuti, drive safely and have fun!

peace.

international look

assalamualaikum wahai green-lovers!

just recently i've been looking through my baby pictures, because, well.. if i might say so myself, imma cute bebeh. hahahaha!! muntah-hijau-pastu-ada-sayur-sayur-sikit-please. =p

my family always talk (present tense sebab we still talk about it) about how i looked chinese as a baby and how i look very different now as an adult. ye la.. dulu mata sepet la gak. kulit putih macam amoi. gigi dua batang besar. cakap pun boleh tahan macam chinese la. hahahahaa! ok tu exaggerate je. tengok pics sebagai supporting evidence.
abang abang setan yang selalu buli saya . setan pun setan, sayang tetap sayang. =B

 "ni hau maaa?"

"wo ai barney and friends! wahahahahaha!"

do you agree?
i pun tak tau la. all i notice is my cuteness. muntah-brown-ada-coco-pops-sikit-please. =p

now lak, muka i ni boleh pass as pakistani, bangladeshi, chinese mualaf, malay (duhh), arab, dan macam macam lagi. bukan i tipu, ladies and gentleman. i don't even take it as a compliment neither an insult. i just rasa its kelakar.

one time i was at a petrol station and this pakistani helper tu tanya i.

Pakistani helper: awak.. pakistan ka?
saya: ha? you rasa? (senyum senget sebelah tanda curious)
Pakistani helper: pakistan (angguk tanda hipotesis beliau diterima)
saya: mana ada la! saya melayu.
Pakistani helper: ha?! tipu!
saya: ya Allah. tak tipu la! tolong saya isi minyak ya. saya bayar dulu.
Pakistani helper: (pandang saya with the look of disappointment)
saya: (senyum mata tutup, tunjuk gigi, tunjuk peace sebagai tanda "lek la bro")

another time, i was with my friends in JB. a chinese shopkeeper dengan selambanya tanya..

chinese shopkeeper: (tanya kawan tapi tuding jari ke arah saya) she arab ah?
saya: saya ke?
chinese shopkeeper: (tengok saya dengan muka terkejut. boleh nampak kening dia hilang dalam bangs dia) eh? you malay kah?
saya: ya lorrr. aunty ingat saya arab ka?
chinese shopkeeper: ahahaah ahahahh (gelak awkward) sorry ya sorry.

lagi satu. i was at my office. a supplier came and introduced himself to us. kita dah kenal the company, but this guy was new.

saya: hi, i'm maria.
supplier: maria?
saya: yeah. (senyum)
supplier: you're a convert ke? (tanya perlahan lahan)
saya: ha? why you say that? (curious dan terkejut)
supplier: maria is an indian name, right?
saya: ahahahahahahh! where got laaaaa! ada ramai orang nama maria okaaayyyy~

bukan i tipu, again. dah banyak kali i kena these kinda things. apart from that, ramai gak claimed they saw me at places i never was! ada yang nampak i kat klcc la, kat terengganu la, kat kolej mana entah la padahal i was some place else. muka i international and i rasa i dah lebih 7 pelanduk serupa. beribu riban dah kot. hahaha!!

maybe it is the eyes and the nose.

funny how i was from chinese looking baby to a... apa-apa-bangsa-looking-pun-boleh adult. haha!!

well. kalau orang kata i have pakistani whatever look yang belah2 india, i tak kisah sangat coz i memang ada indian genes. arwah moyang tok is from sri lanka, indian muslim la gitu. and my tokwan is chinese.
kalau orang kata i muka macam scottish or irish or or.. or japanese, memang i terkejut beruk la! and i akan buat pose beruk kalau orang cakap camtu. true story.
=p

conclusion?
you put it down like new york city,
i never sleep, wild like los angeles,
my fantasy hotter than miami,
i feel the heat,
oh miss international love~

tiba tiba lagu pitbull. =p

i guess how we are as babies can never really guarantee how we turn out as adults, in any aspect. =)

peace.

would you like to Iftar with me?

ASSALAMUALAIKUM!

caps lock tanda excited.

i am excited, very very excited~ lalalala~~ lululuuu~~
can you tell?
i don't know, but i'm excitedddd~~
lalalaala~~

ok ok.

maybe most of you don't know, i've started wearing hijab last year, on the second day of Ramadhan. believe it bebeh! it has been a year already!! wooottttt!!!
i bet some of you don't understand the big deal of wearing tudung for a year. kannnn?
haha!
well, it is for me because, considering my lifestyle, how i was brought up, my environment, everything about myself even, have not been encouraging for me to be hijab-ed and covered.
being able to stand up against the negativities, learning every step of the way to be a better person (amiiinnn!), potraying a muslim woman boldly, changing my lifestyle, and so much more, these are my accomplishments!

and it all begins with a niat to wear tudung.
=')
alhamdulillah.. alhamdulillah.. alhamdulillah..

so in goodness of the month of Ramadhan yang best best awesome awesome ini,
i'd like to invite 15 people to berbuka puasa with me!
FOR FREE OK!
because it's sponsored. hehe!!
it's all thanks to ODISI STUDIO who has been kind enough to offer not only break-fasting feast (cuba cakap laju laju: break-fasting feast), but photos, videos and such! cool kan?

and because i've asked on my FB page about this, many have responded kindly and exceeded my expectation!
thus, i'm hosting a contest, a real simple contest, for you to be one of the 15 people! over kan nak buat contest =p sorry, i just want to be fair! heee..

picture of me 'floating': credits to SimplyEvents! =D

so there! easy kan? OH!! forgot to mention that editting is not an issue! be creative!! and the most 'likes' will win!
=D and remember, email your picture to iftarwithme@odisistudio.my and vote at Odisi Studio's FB Page!
i look forward to meeting you people!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORT!
You're all awesome, and may Allah SWT bless you =)
amiiinnnn~

Who is Maria the Scarflet?

Who am i?

i am just that girl you see eating alone at a cafe, that girl you see walking around here and there with her friends, that girl you see with her family, that girl you see laughing at something, that girl you see anywhere and everywhere.

i'm just like most of you.

i was taken aback at how many followers i've gained since.. since a while ago. i don't know how it happened but it did.
i know it was because of my videos.
but initially i never expected it to be liked by you, or her, or him, and i never in a million years thought someone like Yuna would've watched it! hehe! =B

i'm not famous and i won't admit it because i don't believe it.

i never made this blog with the intention to get popularity or to get your attention.
never.
popularity to me, is only temporary.
living my life is more important than that.
i made it for myself. for me to remember the silly things that happened in my life for when i get older. for me to remember the 'me' that was, and the 'me' that is.

i continued making videos because i believe i can entertain but at the same time share the simple things in life that we often don't acknowledge. like how redundancy is something that occurs everyday, yet u look past it coz u couldn't find a word to describe it. like how u want to scream out loud that you're not a loser just because you're on your own in a shopping mall or wherever. like how you always lip sync to the songs on the radio and make a fool of yourself because you know and like the songs.

simple things like these, i want to address. why? because a lot of you can relate.

i don't want to be famous.

i want to be relate-able.

when some darlings tell me i'm their role model, i only pray they take the best of me, not the worst.
in the end, i'm only human. i have my ups and downs, and i'm naturally imperfect.

i'm not pretty like most bloggers are for you to gawk at. i'm not even worthy of being called a fashionista for you to get inspired from. i'm mediocre in every way!

but yet here you are. here i am.
and if you've read this till here, then i salute you and give you a high five for being awesome.

thank you very much my fellow friends.
with all my heart,

THANK YOU.

MARIA, YOU'RE SO CLEVER! hurmph. sorry my dearies. i told you i'm still new with this video thing. i didn't consider about lighting la, sound la, colour la. all that jazz. forgive me? hehe! =p

Fainted, got up and taught a new word

yes yes, it was my Birthday yesterday and yes yes, i did NOT celebrate it this time.
why?

simple.

because i don't need to. =)

i just want to stay at home, relax and absorb everything and every blessings i've received this year.
last year, i wished that 2010 will be filled with unexpected events, changes, fun and success.

alhamdulillah i've had just that =)

i am truly thankful for all the wishes from you at Facebook! you made me feel special! hehehee!! and my friends and family who've called and texted, i love you guys!!! =D

oh, i got the shock of my life when my friend told me Yuna actually posted my Hijab Chill tutorial on her Tumblr. i was like serious?!?!? and my eyes teared up, for what reason, i also don't know, i'm weird that way..
and when i saw it, i was like..
okay. so is Yuna gonna wear the hijab like me?
hahaha!! fat chance! her style is waaaaay cooler! =D

she also commented on my post of the Maysaa event!

so Yuna, if you happen to come to this blog yang pelik again, to you i would reply:

Salam Yuna!!
oh please please do curi the pictures and put it up wherever you like, even in your room! hehehe!! =p the group photos are not mine though, but i'm sure the Shea and Adriani, the owners of the group photos, will be very honoured to have you take them!

oh na na, what's my name

thank you Cik Epal for bringing in more people to my blog yang small-small ni!
to all you new friends, HELLO!
to old friends but not that old, WASAAAPPP!!

teehee!!

oh i want to apologise to all of you firstly, coz i didn't have that much time to check out your blogs. i am positive that your blogs are wonderful!! so sorry ek! i will insyallah, when i have the time ok! being in the working world somehow takes the life out of me when i get home. i usually just watch youtube or tv.. and facebooking..
oh to you who said hi to me on my facebook, thank you ya! i like it when those i've added actually said thanx to me. it's polite! heeee..

anyways, i have a story to share.
my friends and i watched the theatre called Natrah two nights ago.

Natrah was played by Maya Karin. oh Maya, why are you so gorgeous? and why are you acting as a teenager padahal you're already in your 30s? haha!

so at one point, Natrah was at a crossroad between her real mother and her adoptive mom (mak angkat).
she really loves her mak angkat, so she was battling with her real mother to let her go and stuff.

then she said, with heartfelt hatred and anger,
full of despise,
disgust and anguish,

"Maria maria maria!! SAYA BENCI NAMA ITU!!"

why? why do you hate that name?? Dato Yusof Haslam bukan main suka nama Maria ok! he kept using the name for the characters in his movies!
hmph!

merajuk.

ok the name Maria doesn't have an Islamic meaning, but it has in Latin!
which are The Star of The Sea and Beloved. the star of the sea? mcm cool ek. haha!

the name Maria also have been made into songs!

Maria maria, Santana (Latin pop)
Maria, Ricky Martin
Maria, Rage Against the Machine
Maria (1956 song), West Side Story
Maria, The Sound of Music
Maria, Blondie
Maria, Green Day
Maria, The Jacksons
Ave Maria, Beyonce

and the list just goes on and on.

so Natrah, or anybody else out there, don't la hate the name Maria. it's a cool name! hehehehehe!! =p

oh btw! Maria Elena is a song too!
that's how my parents thought of my name. ever heard of it?
if you haven't, this is Nat King Cole's version. Michael Buble sang an english version but you have to download it to listen. as if you're going to do that.. haha!!

thank you Nat King Cole for making a tribute to me. hahahhaa!! =p

ok now let's ChillPopia!

notice the similarity?
why yes! it's that waist belt! it's so simple and feminine and it doesn't oversell cuteness!
the belt is from Old Blossom Box, fyi. i thought it was really versatile when i saw it. terus beli!

so this is my idea of turning a blaahhh ensemble into ehh cool! one. haha!!

anyway, the point of this post?
nothing really. just want to make myself and all you Marias' feel better. hik hik!! sorry ya~

ps: i'm trying to get a camcorder to make vlogging easier. see the distance i would go for you! hahaha!! =p
well actually i kinda like vlogging but camcorders are quite expensive.. so we'll see la how. heee.. boleh tak i bukak tabung camcorder? haha!

YAY TOMORROW'S FRIDAY!!

Jam-whoring

who loves traffic jams? especially during weekends when you're on your way to meet someone and you have been very excited before you left your place.
who does?

I DON'T!

i really really can't understand how jam can happen on highways.
why? why must there be jams?
whats the point of having new roads built and opening new highways?
whats the point of even creating cars with bigger cc's when they're just going to end up driving at 20km/h anyway?

so i was stuck in the jam yesterday, and i was feeling very
and then i stopped myself.
it's hot in herrr. i should put my shades on.
done. okay, maybe not.
oh bestnya, the cars are moving one inch at a time.
wah! lagi best!! the motorists are zooming past us drivers thinking we're losers coz we're stuck in this traffic. yay for the motorists!
oh wow! now a car is cutting me *without signaling*. i wanna kiss you but i can't. 6789998212. let's all sing Kiss Me Thru The Phone together!! grr..

after about 1 hour of sitting in the car and doing all this nonsense,

meeting him was probably worth the jam  =)

teehee!!

ps: i don't like jams. have i mentioned that already? oh i did. okay. i still don't like them. hehehe =B

HFW 7 - Bye bye HFW, i'm off to buy some groceries.

wuuu.. it's the last day for the loved week of all time! but fret not my dearests, i am positive that this won't stop here. =D

so today's HFW theme is "the Cup of Life" - Running Errands.

everyday is like an errand to me! since i live by myself now, i have to buy food, stock up on groceries and toiletries, wash my clothes, clean my room and the apartment, fill up the petrol, OHHH the list just goes on and on!! hehee!

here, i'm wearing checkered shirt which i bought in Jakarta many years ago, my favourite brown jeans, orange gladiator sandals from CarloRino, mom's old brown sling bag from Bally, shawl tepi jalan and awesome shades i bought in Amsterdam. the hand accessories are my everyday wear. i hardly ever take them off! i told you i love accessories. =D

running errands, i must always wear clothes i'm comfortable in. i'll be walking around and the probability of me sweating while doing my errands is HIGH! so just a simple outfit is favorable. oh oh oh!! I'M A JEANS GIRL! holla!

who says brown jeans ain't prettayh?

tata!!

thank you Em, from Modesty Theory for hosting such a creative and fun event in this blogging world! it is really an honour to have been one of the girls to strut my style =)
thank you also to all of you darlings who have commented and viewed our blogs throughout!
i am soooo grateful, i wish i can hug each and everyone of you!

+++
now before i end this post, i just want to warn you Malaysians to be careful of Denggi which is spreading like wildfire nowadays. avoid going to places with loads of mosquitoes, i.e. restaurant tepi tasik, stall next to a drain, anywhere you see have high population of mosquitoes. don't take Denggi lightly.
be careful ok? prevention is better than cure!

+++
take care everyone! see you on normal blogging days ok! =D
let's eat!

hehe!

HFW 6 - I gotta date with the Night

if you know Yeah Yeah Yeahs, then you know what i'm talking about =B
else, it's ok.

i got a date with Dato'! ummm actually i HAD a date with Dato'. these were taken last week when we went to Bukit Tinggi the 1st time, but we missed our chance to wear the kimono. hence, he took me there AGAIN, just so that i got to wear the kimono (as seen on HFW 4)! how sweet is Dato'? =D

Dato', belanja i makan tonight? =B

here, i was wearing Miss Selfridge long dress inside (it's on sale now!! go grab 'em!), and a chiffon aztec-ish top bought at a street market, red sling bag from Primark, red pumps from Cotton On (forgive me, but i do love my red pumps!), shawl from tepi jalan, rings and headband from Forever 21.

here's a close up on my top and my muka seposen (10cents face):

y'all wanna peace of me? yeah mayn, i did say peace.

heehee!!
ok here's my pose seposen (10cents pose):

sorry for the poyoness! i get worse as Dato' was taking pictures.. because i had that ANTM mode on, and dayumm girrrllll, i wanna be on top! hahaha!

simple again right? but it's comfortable, it's sweet, and it's not dull. patterns are so in right now and i am loving these abstracts on my top! i wore that headband because i've had it since i wasn't wearing hijab (before), and i can't give it away.. i love it too much! so i thought, the heck with it, i'm gonna wear it Arab-styleee! haha!

now Dato', i:
want you to make me feel, like i'm the only girl in the world,
like i'm the only one you'll ever love,
like i'm the only one who knows your heart,
only girl in the world.

hehe!! i miss my Dato' very much, and if you're reading this Dato', i love you! =D

HFW 5 - Alhamdulillah, it's Friday!! =D

so today's theme is Weekend Wear, and on weekends, i usually hang out with my family!

my family and i always have dinner together on weekends, so last weekend, we had ours at the Curve. during dinner, we update each other about our lives, make fun of each other, piss each other off, talk about random stuff, etc etc. oh, and we usually eat for about 15mins. yes, we are fast eaters. =p

i love my family =)

"hi Maria, can i kiss u?"   "yow a wehdo"
(you're a weirdo in british slang, fyi)

so i wore a simple salmon coloured inner, a lace button-down shirt i wore as cardigan, navy blue maxi skirt, vintage sling bag, and for shoes, i wore oxford flats!

teehee! hope you can see it. sorry la camera biasa jeee. =B
here's a clearer picture of my top:

meet Mr.Diggles! he's my brother's pet hedgehog. incredibly cute and prickly, and he's sooo hyper! =D

anyway, i really like how that turquiose pendant pops out from the blahhness of my attire. it matches with the hues in my hijab too. it's a simple combination (like all my other clothes for the past 4 days), but it's just the way i like it. i am all about simplicity and basic wear.
that's why i love accessories! they can just add that extra attitude into your look. =D

that's really it about my outfit! hope you like it and maybe get inspired for the next time you go out with your family or friends on your weekend!
