seriously. how do you teach an 80+ year old woman how to use a smartphone, when she has never used one before?
our dear tokmak is staying with us coz she fell and broke her hip bone few weeks ago.
so yeah. currently living with my two grandmas are... lively. hehe!
it's kind of funny though when tokmak and tokwan talks.
their conversation mesti pasal ailments diorang.
we call it "Sape Lagi Sakit" battle =p
anyway,
tokmak uses a normal house phone when she's at home in muar. but now that she's staying with us, she needs a handphone.
and for some reason (i do not know), tokmak got herself a samsung smartphone.
you can imagine how hard it is to instruct an old lady yang buta IT to slide to unlock, or slide to pick up a call, or worse. how to text.
so this morning, while i was eating breakfast, mom was trying to educate tokmak on how to use the phone on her own.
*phone rings*
*tekan and entahape dia buat*
*phone still ringing*
*ringing habissss*
HAHAHAHA! kelakar gila tengok tokmak terkial kial ngan smart phone dia tu!
camaneeee laaa nak ajar tokmak pakai smartphone, i oso dono.
imagine this lady who survived through the japanese occupation by rubbing mud all over her face and arms so that the japanese wouldn't consider her being a chinese and this lady who calls Plymouth car as "plaimos" and Chevrolet as "chebrolet".
imagine this lady nak swipe swipe phone and whatsapping us all.
FAT CHANCE.

"eeee tak gheti laaa. tunjuk la! kite tak tau!" tokmak balas
"tak boleh! mak kena belajar pakai sendiri kalau tak camane nanti!" mak jawab balik

"hhaaa camane ni? nak kol dia balik camane?" tokmak tanya"ehh ehhhh ehhhhhhhhhh" tokmak. the whole time.
"tekan back. back. yang tu, kat tepi tu. back. BACK! yang bawah tuuuu! tak payah kuat kuat! tekan biasa je! ok pastu tekan tepi tu. yang tu!" mom instructed

HAHAH...bukan 80s je kak maria.. even mak2 kite umur 50s pon tak tau nak gune.. how? hahaha.. die tengok semua anak2 pakai henpon canggih.. die pon nak jugakk.. padahal henpon die ok je.. tetibe time tu la henpon die bateri tak elok la ape la kate die.. yg ade keypad pon mesej dah sebulan baru die bukak (tu pon kitorg yg bukakkan).. sebab die tak tau nk bukak mesej.. jauh sekali nk type mesej.. haha.. ce bayangkan die nk gune smart phone yg kene slide2 ni.. lagi pening nk ngajo.. T__T

my mom oso donno how to use a regular handphone yg still ada keypad semua, inikan plak touch screen phones aka smart phones. dia prefer tepon rumah yg ada gagang. *eh gagang ke ganggang, not sure. hahaha

Kak Mar remind me pasal Korean reality show.. macam mana anak2 diorang ajar mak pak diorang guna smart phone. key is patient. sebab my mom pun ajar banyak kali kdg2 tak ingat jgk mcm mana nak buat. baru yang basic angkt call, call and mesej. :)

My grandparents prefer guna hp biasa je. Susah guna yang techno tinggi ni katanya. So, we gave them what they want :)
we bought mak with old fashion hp yang tekan butang je. This is because senang abah kami nak pergi ambik dia from kelas2 mengaji.
Ajar dia 2 sahaja. Butang hijau angkat. Butang merah untuk letak. Tak ajar pun bab buat calls, return calls, sms even charging..
But still sampai la ni. ...dah beberapa kali dibuat kelas mengajar hp pun failed jugak...
