Assalamualaikum!
I think almost all famous shows i've been watching on Netflix & Hulu, mesti ada a hint of gayness.
Gay dude being all diva, lesbian couple, y'know?
It's like they're making sure all shows have some element of LGBT so that it'll seem normal for us.
Just the other day, my cousin and i were talking about it while our kids were playing in my house. The conversation sparked because of the reality show "I am Cait", about Caitlyn Jenner.
In case some of you don't know, it's the kardashians' stepdad and Kendall & Kylie Jenner's dad, Bruce Jenner, an ex-olympian runner, who turned himself into a woman.
It was last year when he/she suddenly became the talk of all variety/entertainment medias.
I honestly couldn't care less about the kardashians let alone the jenners, but without knowing how, i got sucked up into the news.
See how media make us care about things are not even worth our braincells!
So anyway, my cousin and i were talking about he/she, and i admitted that i don't know how i should react to transgenders. The pondans, the pengkids, i've met nice ones, and i've befriended some pengkids too in the past.
I have nothing against them, but i know i shouldn't be encouraging too.
Then there're these people who say "It's between me & God", "i was born this way", or whatever, well.. Yeah. It is between them and God, but we can't just let them think it's not in their power to change.
Because we all have this fight with nafsu.
I do. I've got lots of fights with myself! It's like a tag-team wrestling match, where i'm alone on one side, and all my nafsu on the other and they're changing places but sometimes they come 2 at a time. We win some fights, we lose some. But no matter what, the fight must go on. We'll get a break once in a while though, don't worry. Allah is Kind =)
Regardless of our level of piety, we all have battles with our inner demons.
No one's perfect but that doesn't mean we won't learn from our mistakes. We can continue becoming a better person, that's for sure.
Now, with the western media through movies, tv shows, music and social medias, they will make LGBT seem interesting or a trend, who knows kan. I've been wondering how i'd explain to my kids when LGBT would be a norm since it's becoming so even now..
But all i have for now is:
These people are struggling with their sexual orientation and identity, and all of us who don't have that to go through should be grateful. Allah tutupkan aib luaran kita, you know? We all sin differently. Fitnah is a sin, gossiping, lying, cheating, stealing, zina - just because there's no physical proof that anyone do them, doesn't mean they're non-existent. So who are we to judge? Instead, what we can do is pray to Allah to make it easy for them and give them the strength and hidayah.
That's really what we should pray for everyone.
It's not a good speech or whatever, i know heheee.
Oh well.
I wish you all the best, my dear readers.
We all have wrestling matches within us and that's where good company always help. =)
Our friends and families are usually our supporter, so if you can choose your company, choose well.
And may Allah give us victories in our fights, may He provide us good people, and help us on the road to Jannah.
InshaAllah.
Amiiiin
=)

thanks, i am struggling real hard for now
Salam Kak Mars! Just thought I'd show a video to you on the journey of a mak nyah who recently has find peace with Allah, again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNR8KRStVAc
As for your blog post, yes. Exactly, Allah is the One who removes us from darkness and brings us into His Light. Alhamdulillah wa syukru lillah.... (2:287)
Exposure of LGBT in the media, for me, is a process of normalization. Making us thinking, oh it's normal. When indeed, it's far from Allah's redha (mardhatillah). I think, Kak Mars, their fight is ours as well. If we've found Allah, we should bring them to Allah too. Invite them to know Islam again with hikmah, without hurting them. Because Jannah is not for us alone T_T
Ooops, I'm so sorry kak Maria suddenly panjang pulak this comment.
May Allah bless us, salam (if tak jawab dosa, but I know you'll jawab because you love me for Allah *chia chia chia* hahah :'D)
I used to be confused as well on how to react. Then i remembered Allah never burdens us more than what we can handle. Single mothers, rape victims, sex workers, LGBT, they have their own struggle. Submitting self to Allah, and Allah will help them.
As muslims, we pray for them, never look down on them, help them if possible but never encourage them. Its wrong to mingle with them without the intention to help them return to their own fitrah.
They also need to know its not biological (like the media tries to imply on us), its just ujian from Allah. Allah itu Maha Adil. Allah tidak kejam.

well said..
admit that sy ade kwn lesbian..pengkid..gay..transgender(shemale)..all of them seems treating me so well..diaorg baik..and more understanding..but ye la..dah luar dr fitrah yang sebenar..even diaorg baik..kita jgak kene support them berubah or kembali ke jln yang benar..im not that kind of pious one..but atleast try support them..some of my friend dah berubah dah pun and ada yang dah nak kahwin..just cari..not judging them or hina dorg..kalau tgok dkat fb yang berkaitan dgn hal2 cmni..sedih dengan segelintir manusia yang keje nk hina dorg..mcm sendiri x pernah ade secalit dosa..actually yang gay or lesbian ni jd mcm tu sbb kecelaruan perasaan..sbb ye la..u know..bila laki and prmpuan..msti ade salah faham so on..and dorg lg selesa bersama kaum sendiri sbb more understanding..
just kita yang straight ni satu je la..keep on support diaorg..bkn menghina..sbb kalau menghina..lg la dorg memberontak...use the smooth way..
Those who live by the wisdom of 'God makes no mistake' should be constantly reminded that it is us human who often makes mistakes. Allah tak salah, kita yang salah. Kita semua buat salah, tapi setiap dosa ada ubat dia, kita ada pilihan taubat. Its ok, slow-slow..small steps, yang penting maju. Aiceh
What a homophobic post, but you must be proud of this. What's interesting is that in your "about the author" section you wrote about how others don't get to decide anything about you, but here you are deciding for the lgbt community what they should do.
It's not for you to decide for them. It's better that you get to know them and stop acting that heterosexuality is the best thing since sliced bread. There's nothing great about who anybody choose to fuck, but some of us are still stuck being neanderthal that they can't think beyond dicks and pussies.
Salam. Just want to share. My students will insyallah present a seminar on this lgbt issue. As future doctors i think they should have first hand information on this. And i emphasize to the group to make sure the objectives are achieved. Ie. To educate or share knowledge your friends 2. Notvto hate the persons affected but the acts or lifestyle that is against Islam
Secondly alhamdulillah here in out vicinity we have a prof who is actively supporting..help..direct the transgender back to the path of Islam. Its a slow but so far hss shown significsnt response from those affected. The Persatuan Insaf Pahang is strongly supported as an NGO by several academician..ustsz..volunteers..JAIP.masjid etc with activities like mengaji wuran..tazkirah..solat jemaah and even finding ways to improve them economically
Maaf. Jari gemuk
sy nie kaki drama omputih...sume layan..haha..yup btul..skrang trend drama western mereka akn cmpur2 psal gay, lesbian n transgender...
nie salah satu cara mereka utk say yg lgbt is okay..huhu..
btul jgak..sape kita nak judge mereka...jusr bersyukur yg kita mmpunyai nafsu normal...
jgn lupa utk berdoa kpd geng2 lgbt supaya mereka mdapat hidayah dr ilahi...
Well said Maria.
