the kind of cars

assalamualaikum =)

it was this year when i finally changed my car; from an old school secondhand kembara to a proton preve.
i had my kembara since i was in my first year in uni.
and that was 6 years ago!!
i've been using that car for 6 years!! LAMA GILA! i did change at one point to a le petite chevy, but only for a while sebab my grandma needs the car more. she doesn't drive of course, dia ada a freelance driver who takes her to supermarkets and stuff for a day.

so from my experience (of using a secondhand car), i suggest people yang sedang mencari kereta baru to get a car yang fits your affordability.
ramai yang rasa kalau baru nak get a first car, lebih baik amik yang used ones, sebab takut kena langgar ke apa ke, at least tak sayang sangat, and of course coz it's a cheaper option.
tapi kena fikir gak bab maintenance.

some used cars memang ok je eventhough dah tua. tapi some cars lagi used dia, lagi teruk maintenance dia.
so kena betul betul check inside out of the cars.
and that requires a lot of car knowledge.

as a girl, i memang almost zero knowledge la bab kereta. that's why i have my hubby to help me most of the time. =p

sebenarnya, boleh je orang nak afford to buy a new car gak, instead of getting a secondhand one.
macam Proton Saga FLX 1.3 or 1.6 SE.

i ada baca that it's got RM2000 rebate and no service charge for a year. roadtax dia zero kot for 2 years! and after that, nak renew costs only RM5.
lagi murah dari renew driving license. haha!! =p
dah la the car have good safety features, it's fast and it's very fuel efficient.
untung gila la kan beli kereta baru pastu dapat rebate, roadtax RM0 to RM5 je, selamat, cantik, maintenance murah. apa lagi ekau nak? haha!

i remember driving my old kembara.. the max speed i could go was 100km/h, and tu pun dengan shaking shaking yang menggegarkan lemak. haha! andddd sangat kerap kena gi kedai service sebab it had so many problems. in a month tu, wajib ada car problem at least once. gila kan? *tsk tsk*

so as a conclusion, i just think anyone yang nak get a car to not only think of the cost of the car, but consider the 'hidden costs' like fuel, roadtax, service, etc, sebab sebenarnya yang menyakitkan kewangan kita is the maintenance of the car. and try test drive a proton car la k? saga FLX la kot yang i rasa macam financially ok. =)
